Engineering Manager – Sustainable Specialty Chemistry

We are seeking a driven and experienced Engineering Manager to lead plant engineering and maintenance operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role carries full responsibility for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of site assets and infrastructure.

You will lead the site maintenance team and external partners, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of capital projects and maintenance strategies that directly support operational excellence.

This is a key leadership position where technical expertise meets strategic influence-driving long-term asset performance, reliability, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the full capital project lifecycle – from concept development through commissioning and startup – ensuring alignment with business priorities and governance processes
* Develop and manage the annual capital expenditure plan, and contribute to long-term (5-year) capital forecasting
* Oversee maintenance operations, ensuring effective prioritization, planning, and execution of work in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner
* Lead, coach, and develop the site maintenance team and external contractors to build a high-performance engineering organization
* Own and continuously improve the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate asset data, maintenance strategies, and spare parts planning to maximize uptime and reliability
* Evaluate workforce structure, capabilities, and processes to drive productivity improvements and cost optimization
* Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices across the site
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards in all engineering and maintenance activities
* Collaborate closely with corporate engineering and site leadership to deliver strategic initiatives
* Support additional engineering and operational initiatives as required

Key Skills & Competencies

* Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams and contractors in an industrial environment
* Strong background in capital project management and execution
* Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance reliability systems
* Proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project or equivalent)
* Understanding of chemical or process manufacturing equipment (reactors, pumps, valves, instrumentation, PLC systems, etc.)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a continuous improvement focus
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment
* Working knowledge of basic financial principles, including budgeting and cost control

Education & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
* Minimum 7 years of experience in a chemical or process manufacturing environment
* At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams and/or technical staff

Work Schedule

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST near Arlon.
