The role involves working with the Sustainability team to achieve these energy reductions in an open and collaborative environment.About the roleThe Engineering Energy Reduction Manager will report to the Assistant Director for Engineering Infrastructure.The Engineering Energy Reduction Manager will be responsible for enabling a 20% energy reduction across UCL’s activities by 2030 by:

• Proactively identifying opportunities throughout UCL’s building portfolio to reduce energy demand through changes to engineering systems.
• Leading on the delivery of energy efficiency projects.
• Providing technical support and advice to ensure capital works are delivered to the highest levels of energy efficiency.

About youDegree in Engineering, Energy, Building Services, or related field; alternatively, qualified candidates with relevant experience considered.
Membership in CIBSE, IEMA, or EMA preferred; recognised project management qualification (e.g., APM) required.
Proven experience in energy reductions within complex estates and in energy management for buildings, particularly laboratories or clinical environments.
Skills in conducting energy audits to assess building fabric, systems, and controls; project management of energy efficiency projects.
Knowledge of Building Energy Management Systems and digital/condition-based maintenance methodologies.
Experience managing contractors to achieve energy savings and implementing new building technologies.
Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills; effective in report writing and time management.
Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams and creative problem-solving abilities in energy engineering.
