DESCRIPTION

The Professional Services Team is looking for a Engagement Manager. As Engagement Manager you will lead complex transformational projects with autonomy and discretion, often involving multiple Amazon and customer teams.

  • You will help customers define target business outcomes and related work streams, and then own and drive the subsequent projects end to end across several work streams to consistently exceed these goals.
  • You will drive projects, starting with the customer required outcomes, then setting up an effective work framework for the combined AWS and customer team, driving the prioritization and planning, enforcing an effective governance structure, managing customer expectations and proactively handling risks, in order to deliver solutions tied to the customer business objectives.
  • You will communicate in an effective way with AWS team members and stakeholders, as well as with customer counterparts including executive level.
  • You will excel at maintaining customer relationship and will drive required negotiations during project delivery.
  • You will create, apply and improve frameworks, methods, best practices and artifacts that deliver prescriptive guidance to customers, and publish and present them in public forums.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record and experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) using both Waterfall and Agile/Iterative methodologies
  • Multiple years of customer-facing, large scale IT implementation consulting experience
  • Able to represent AWS within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding best practices in project management and risk mitigations
  • BS level technical degree or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of the value proposition of the public cloud and experience delivering cloud engagements (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • AWS experience and certification(s)
  • Actively supporting and fostering a culture of inclusion
