Job Description:About the Energy DepartmentThe Energy Department, part of the European Purchasing Organization of ArcelorMittal, is responsible for purchasing electricity, natural gas and industrial gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon and hydrogen), and developing energy projects for the group e.g. energy efficiency, power plants to valorize siderurgical gases, renewable energy projects and industrial gas plants. The Energy department is buying energy directly on markets or through bilateral contracts for the European perimeter and is providing necessary support & expertise to ArcelorMittal’s steel mills worldwide in their energy projects.Being part of this department, the Long-Term Contracts & Renewable Energy Projects team is responsible for purchasing Electricity and Natural Gas Long Term bilateral contracts, develop sourcing of Renewable Energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and partnerships, develop sourcing of natural gas through LNG supply and/or LT supply contracts.Role OverviewThe Renewable Energy Procurement and Project Manager will play a key role in the Long-Term Contracts & Renewable Energy Projects team, focusing on renewable energy sourcing and project development. This includes leading Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations, coordinating renewable energy projects, and working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers.Key Responsibilities1. Energy Market and Costs Analysis:

  • Conduct renewable energy market analysis, including cost optimization and competitor strategies.
  • Analyze country-specific energy markets, regulations, and key players.
  • Develop future supplier strategies.

2. Project Development and Sourcing:

  • Lead the negotiation of PPAs, including strategy development, supplier meetings, and offer analysis.
  • Optimize business models and make recommendations for decision-making.
  • Negotiate long-form contracts and support co-development schemes for land valorization.

3. Coordination and Compliance:

  • Work with procurement and internal teams to advance renewable energy project strategies.
  • Coordinate permitting processes for renewable energy installations.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and sustainability regulations.
  • Prepare bid documents (RFPs, RFQs) and evaluate supplier responses.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.

4. Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sites, trading team, corporate technical team, finance, legal) and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and developers.
  • Ensure seamless permitting, installation, and operation of renewable energy sources.

Qualifications and SkillsEducational Background:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Energy Economics, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in energy procurement, project management and / or a related field, preferably in a utility, producer, or large energy consumer company.
  • Experience in managing end-to-end transversal Renewable Energy projects.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to build business models (project financing, joint ventures, CAPEX project).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment and work autonomously.
  • Fluent in English and at least one other European language (German, French, or Spanish).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). VBA or R is a plus.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and sustainability issues is desirable.
