Job description

Offer Description[EN]Context: In order to understand how to maintain or enhance well being as people age, it is crucial to examine the factors that protect or diminish well-being. Specifically, it is important to understand how health and socio-economic conditions affect individuals’ well-being. This requires a detailed understanding of the mechanisms linking the decline in health capital (such as loss of autonomy) with the concurrent deterioration of employment status and the evolution of well-being.Objectives: The project focuses on the impact of disability on the employment status of people over 50 in France. The first objective is to analyze the effect of the onset of disability on professional situations, taking into account different measures of disability to grasp the complexity of its definition. The second objective is to assess the consequences of job loss (or unemployment) in terms of well-being.Position Expectations: The final deliverable will be the drafting of an article to be submitted to a leading peer-reviewed international scientific journal. The post-doctoral researcher will conduct a literature review on the disability-employment topic. He (or she) will investigate how to measure disability and well-being and will determine the best empirical strategy to achieve the two main objectives of the study. The post-doctoral researcher will need to become proficient with the SHARE database. He (or she) will perform econometric analyses using dedicated software.
