About the role…
We’re looking for an Employee Relations (ER) Business Partner to join our People Team on a 12-month FTC covering maternity leave. Supporting our UK Commercial and Operations teams, you’ll manage ER cases, coach managers on effective conversations, support structural changes, and help shape market-leading policies by staying ahead of trends and legislation. This role also offers the chance to contribute to broader People initiatives, enhancing the People & Culture experience at Clear Channel.
What you’ll be doing…
- Manage a spectrum of ER cases, from sickness and performance to grievances and disciplinaries, always ensuring fairness and consistency.
- Keep company policies up to date with Government legislation while ensuring they remain practical and market leading.
- Build strong relationships with managers, coaching them to confidently handle challenging conversations and navigate ER processes.
- Support teams through restructures or TUPE processes, ensuring fairness and respect throughout.
- Develop and deliver tools, guides, and workshops to equip managers with the confidence to manage issues proactively.
- Analyse trends in ER data, using insights to recommend and implement initiatives that support both well-being and business performance.
- Partner with ERGs like Headspace and People with Disabilities to create inclusive initiatives that drive engagement and innovation.
Objectives for 6-12 months
- Review and update our polices to reflect changes in line with government legislations. This includes staying ahead of government reforms, translating them into clear guidance for our teams.
- Deliver workshops to empower managers with the skills to handle performance conversations confidently and proactively, building stronger leadership and team success
- Collaborate with ERGs to understand employee needs, identify trends and make recommendations that enhance wellbeing and support business goals
What we’re looking for..
- Experienced at handling complex ER cases.
- An expert juggler, able to balance incoming requests and demands from a wide range of stakeholders as well as keeping cases moving at pace.
- Comfortable with data, analysis and insight, to help us develop initiatives and measure our progress.
- Able to build great relationships so people come to you ‘for a chat’ or to ‘sound you out on something’ early on.
- At the same time, coach and give managers the confidence to own and lead the trickier conversations without you needing to be there all of the time.
- Insightful and informed – staying up to date on external trends, best practice and legislation – coming to the table with well thought out options and recommendations.
- Resourceful, quickly figuring out the best way to make things happen at Clear Channel, in a way that really works for our people and our culture.
- A team player, able to turn your hands to anything People-related to help your team out.
