EMEA Payroll Specialist

Overview

The EMEA Payroll Specialist is a crucial member of the International Colleague Resource (CR) team, playing an integral role in the payroll centre of excellence responsible for delivering payrolls across the EMEA region.

This position focuses on providing multi-country payroll solutions through a centralized expertise hub. The specialist will work closely with CR Shared Services to ensure accurate and timely data collation across the region for outsourced payroll providers, guaranteeing high standards and legislative compliance.

Key responsibilities include identifying and implementing continuous improvements to payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation, compliance with tax laws and regulations, and efficient payroll processing across the EMEA region.

Collaboration with other departments, such as CR and Finance, as well as third-party providers, is essential to deliver a high-quality payroll service. The role demands strong communication and analytical skills, a thorough understanding of payroll systems including Workday and ADP, and knowledge of legal requirements.

This position is pivotal in delivering cross-functional payroll services and maintaining the integrity of payroll operations across multiple countries in the EMEA region.

Key Responsibility

Payroll Management :

End to end payroll processing for multiple countries within the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local laws, tax regulations and company policies

Liaise with outsourced providers to ensure payrolls are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.

To collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure all integrations between Workday and the outsourced payroll providers are delivering on time, comprehensive accurate data

Prepare and review monthly payroll reports to enable sign off of payrolls across the EMEA region monthly.

Collaborate with Finance to ensure payments are made to colleagues on time and accurately as well as to manage the monthly GL postings.

Manage year end payroll activities, such as issuing tax forms and performing compliance checks.

Supporting In country payroll specialists in the larger countries when required to support the delivery of payroll.

Leadership :

To collaborate with local teams as well as the CR shared services to ensure a smooth payroll operation.

Compliance and Audit :

Ensure all payroll activities comply with local legislation, support management in all Internal and external audits

Vendor and stakeholder management :

Manage payroll vendor daily relationship to ensure an accurate and efficient payroll is produced across the EMEA region. Escalating issues when necessary to the International Payroll Director

Reporting & Analysis :

Generate and analyse payroll reports for management hi-lighting trends and areas of improvements

Employee Support :

Act as the first point of contact for payroll enquires from colleagues, third parties and other internal departments. Providing a high level support within the agreed SLA’s

Process Improvement :

Support the IPD in identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance the colleague experience, payroll accuracy, and efficiency.

Documentation :

Support the International Payroll Director to develop and maintain comprehensive documented payroll processes, procedures and compliance requirements

Continuous learning :

Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation, regulations and best practices across the EMEA region

Systems :

Ensuring colleague data is maintained within the HRIS system (Workday) as well as in all Payroll systems. Supporting and carrying out testing as and when necessary.

Other Duties

Perform other duties related to the function required by the senior management team.

Other duties are an essential part of the role and require the same level of skills, knowledge, and accountability as the main duties.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

  • Significant experience delivering payroll across EMEA region for multiple countries including Netherlands, Nordics & Middle East

  • Thorough knowledge of payroll systems including ADP, multi-country regulations related to payroll.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat and internet research

  • Exceptional Excel skills

  • Knowledge and expertise of Workday highly desirable

  • Experience and ability to operate in a matrix reporting environment as part of a Center of Expertise
