Job descriptionWithin the GSMS master team we are looking for an Educationalist to enhance our educational programmes. Your key responsibilities will include designing and implementing new courses within the selective master programmes Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology (CPE) and Molecular Medicine and Innovative Treatment (MMIT), maintaining and improving the quality of existing courses through the PDCA cycle, and creating lifelong learning course modules (micro-credentials) for PhD students and industry professionals as part of a new project funded by Pharma NL.You will be embedded within the GSMS master team and will closely work with the programme manager, academic directors of the master programmes and experts within the UMCG and industry.Core activities are:
- Development and organization of new courses at MSc, PhD and professional level.
- Aligning educational goals with teaching methods, assessment, and target audience per course (in collaboration with the teachers).
- Implement new teaching strategies in the courses (for example reverse classroom teaching, online lectures, use of AI etc.).
- Evaluation of the progress of the new developments.
- Reporting on the outcomes.

The GSMS is responsible for the selective masters and C and for the PhD education within the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).What are we looking forThe candidate we are looking for is a proactive, customer-oriented educationalist who fits the following profile:
- A relevant academic education.
- Experience with development and coordination of educational programmes, and with aligning educational goals with teaching methods and assessment.
- Experience with developing e-modules and lifelong learning is a plus.
- Team player who is able to collaborate with various stakeholders involved in the educational programmes.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Good proficiency in English and excellent communication skills, both in oral and written communication.
- Proven interest in educational innovations.
The UMCG has a preventive Hepatitis B policy. You may be required to build up sufficient protection against Hepatitis B before you can be appointed. Vaccination is provided by the UMCG if necessary.What do we offer

This is a full-time appointment of 36 hours per week for a year with the possibility of an extension. Your salary will be a maximum of € 5.010,- gross per month (scale 9), depending on your qualifications and relevant experience, based on a full-time appointment.
