Long-Term Teachers have a unique opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people with complex needs. Working at a fantastic alternative provision for 5 – 16 year olds, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the students’ academic, social and emotional wellbeing.About the role:
- Mornings will be based on site, afternoon spent off site
- Supporting teachers in the delivery of high quality lessons, ensuring the students are engaged in their learning
- Help students establish behavioural coping mechanisms
- Provide academic and pastoral support
- Take the students for off-site activities for learning outside of the classroom. Activities may include: sports, adventurous activities, visiting another school or attending vocational courses
All the students you will be working with would’ve experienced childhood trauma so it is essential that you have a nurturing, empathetic and patient demeanour. You will take great care and pride in getting to know and understand your students before trying to correct their behaviour.About you:
- You must be able to drive, have access to your own car and be willing to get business insurance
- You must be looking for a long-term position
- Have GCSEs in English and Maths grade C or above
- Must be able to work Mon – Thurs 8:30am – 3pm and Fri 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Previous experience working with children or adults with SEN is desirable
- Must be physically fit and healthy
- Resilient!
- Proactive and able to think on your feet
