Directorate GROW.G develops and manages policies to promote responsible business behavior, the digitalization of the single market, and implements the control on foreign subsidies framework. Unit GROW.G 1 aims to help build a business-friendly regulatory environment in the EU’s single market, making it easy and rewarding for businesses to start, scale, and operate responsibly. We serve as the hub in GROW for all work related to corporate responsibility, sustainability, and the promotion of innovative startups and scale-ups. We are also in charge of the Regulation prohibiting products made with forced labour on the Union market.

In this role, you will play a central part in the day-to-day functioning of the unit, assisting in the coordination and oversight of administrative processes, supporting HR related tasks, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the unit. Standard core-time/flexi-time arrangements apply, and we are open to flexible working arrangement tailored to your individual needs.
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a motivated and service-minded colleague with a strong problem-solving attitude, and with excellent communication and organisational skills. The ideal candidate will have a sense of initiative, be a strong team player and be able to prioritise the activities of the unit. A good command of English is required. Prior experience in administrative roles and knowledge of French or other EU languages would be an asset.
The job involves:
- Providing administrative support to ensure seamless coordination, efficient monitoring and timely follow-up of unit workflows.
- Coordinating and overseeing key administrative processes such as the Commission decision-making process (DECIDE procedures), parliamentary questions and briefings.
- Supporting the head of unit, in particular coordinating her agenda.
- Managing the Functional Mailbox ensuring effective dispatching of tasks to desk officers.
- Organising and optimising information management and document management within the unit.
- Supporting HR activities like recruitment and onboarding assistance, in close collaboration with the Directorate HR assistant.
- Supporting members of the unit with the missions’ process.
