Job descriptionEAL Teaching Assistant – ManchesterWe are specifically working with a ‘Good’ secondary school in Manchester looking for a EAL teaching assistant, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching small groups literacy from September 2024, on a full-time basis.You will be required to become fully involved within the department and school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents’ evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL. You will be focused on teaching small groups of students literacy.The school achieved a ‘Good’ from Ofsted and had outstanding features showing the strong leadership in the school. The school has a drive to push a love for learning and to keep progressing, with an understanding of the latest technological and innovation developments and their impact on the world Their curriculum allows an equality of opportunity for all pupils, regardless of starting point or perceived barrier. It is progressive, interleaved and sequenced to develop literacy and numeracy for all pupils.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree educated with a good classification
• EAL related qualification
• Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
• Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
• Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
• Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
