Job descriptionEAL Teaching Assistant – SalfordWe are specifically working with a ‘Good’ secondary school in Salford looking for a EAL teaching assistant, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching small groups literacy from September 2024, on a full-time basis.We are seeking a compassionate and motivated EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to support students whose first language is not English. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored assistance, helping students develop their English language skills and integrate into the school community. You will provide one-on-one or small group support to address individual learning needs, using your knowledge and skills to adjust to the needs of the students.The school achieved a ‘Good’ from Ofsted and had outstanding features showing the strong leadership in the school. The school has a drive to push a love for learning and to keep progressing, with an understanding of the latest technological and innovation developments and their impact on the world Their curriculum allows an equality of opportunity for all pupils, regardless of starting point or perceived barrier. It is progressive, interleaved and sequenced to develop literacy and numeracy for all pupils.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree educated with a good classification
  • EAL related qualification
  • Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
