Job Description:Are you looking for an academic career in vibrations and non-linear dynamics?We are looking for an assistant professor to extend and complement our research in dynamical systems at Section of Solid Mechanics, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (DTU Construct), Technical university of Denmark.Responsibilities and qualifications
Your focus must be on strengthening our research and education in the field of vibrations and non-linear dynamics. The research must be centered around the development of theoretical models and their experimental validation. It is expected that the candidate has the potential to build a research group based on external grants and industrial collaborations.You will get an active role in shaping the section profile within the four pillars that define our university: research, education, innovation and public sector advice.You will work with nearby colleagues, and with both academic and industrial partners in Denmark as well as abroad.Your key responsibilities will be to

• Develop industrial applicable research based on international level fundamental research.
• Publish impactful work in leading journals and conferences in your field
• Actively participate in creating a robust and vibrant research environment.
• Be a visible ambassador for research in Solid mechanics and its industrial applications
• Build a research group with a focus on industrial application of theoretical and experimental methods in vibrations and non-linear dynamics.
• Secure funding for your research area from both Denmark and the European Union
• Teach and supervise BSc, MSc student projects, and for PhD students.

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
