Domain Systems Engineer

Job Description Summary: Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.

Job Description: Provides research, design, development, engineering, testing, integration, enhancements, and maintenance services associated with IT/communications equipment and infrastructure supporting NATO and close partner nations.

Designs and develops communications and network solutions to support interoperability and information sharing across multiple networks, including allied integration in ACE, JADC2, and ABMS.

Provides engineering expertise to deliver rapid technical capability enhancements of systems and networks to enable ACE maneuvers, counteract cyber threats, and improve exquisite intelligence activities.

Provides research and information on emerging communications capabilities.

Identifies, plans, and implements IT/communications solutions to support intelligence capabilities.

Designs and develops communications and network solutions to support interoperability and information sharing across multiple networks, including allied integration in ACE, JADC2, and ABMS.

Monitors IT/communications performance and recommending/executing actions based on IT/Communications health and bandwidth.

Provides support for cryptologic and classified storage and processing communications of intelligence systems to ensure information availability, integrity, authentication, and confidentiality.

Provides lifecycle equipment maintenance support including software/hardware components.

Conducts Assessment and Approval (A&A) functions for SCI, PMO and Collateral systems. Supports the Command Special Security Office (SSO) Information Assurance (IA) program as directed by USAFE-AFAFRICA, through periodic evaluations, XACTA database documentation, conducting A&A, developing Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).

Develops and maintains IT/Communications SOPs.

Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes.

May frequently interact with client staff and may be responsible for directing the activities of assigned technical staff.

May serve as a team or task lead.

Required Experience: This position requires five (5) years of intensive and progressive specialized experience. This position also requires Germany TESA as follows:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years relevant experience (or)

  • Associates Degree and 7 years relevant experience (or)

  • No degree and 11 years of directly applicable experience

Note: Minimum experience requirement will be the greater of position and TESA requirements.

Required Certifications:

  • DoDD 8570.01 IAT-II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE),

  • Windows Server administrator or comparable (Microsoft AZ-800, 801, VCP, or VSphere)

  • TESA eligibility/certification

Clearance: TS/SCI

Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which is closely related to the work to be automated and 5 years relevant experience, and/or in a computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline.

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 – $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
