We work with children and families at risk of deportation. Our unique approach, where we combine legal advice within the Immigration Act, Children’s Rights and the Children’s Act with psychosocial interventions in the form of family treatment and contact person support, means that we are successful in the majority of our cases, both in terms of the legal cases and in terms of the children’s well-being. We work holistically and tailor each and every course to the child’s needs. Our Asylum Children won the 2019 Children’s Rights Award. Our Asylum Children has existed since November 2014, but became an established association in September 2017. The association has three areas of focus that together contribute to promoting the association’s purpose.Legal advice:

  • We advise on asylum and residence cases
  • We advise on children’s matters in the Municipality
  • We advise on matters regarding the child’s residence, divorce, visitation and custody.
  • We support our clients throughout the entire process

Family treatment:

  • We work with the child’s entire life situation through psychoeducation, relationship work and supportive conversations for children and caregivers.
  • We support the organization with knowledge about child development, as well as education about the psychological consequences of the case process for the children and their families.

Contact person support:

  • We act as caregivers for the child during the process.
  • We organize the contact person’s efforts using our psychological screening tool MTV, which gives us an indication of the child’s well-being and development points.
