This pivotal role will be at the forefront of leading our research and development efforts while ensuring strategic alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership skills, robust intuition for business, and a consistent track record of converting strategy to execution. In addition, the candidate must value and cultivate a collaborative team environment, driving the customer satisfaction that our organization is renowned for.Main responsibilities will include:Key AccountabilitiesLeadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership to the R&D team, ensuring the successful execution of projects and fostering a culture of excellence.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement R&D strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and drive profitability and market growth.Collaboration: Champion a collaborative environment within the R&D team and across other departments, ensuring effective communication and partnership.Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of resources, including budget management and personnel, to optimize project outcomes.Compliance: Ensure all R&D activities align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standardsRegulatory Compliance: Ensure that all R&D activities align with relevant medical device regulations and standards, such as FDA, ISO 13485, and CE markingCollaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, production, and regulatory affairs, to ensure product alignment with market needs and regulatory complianceTeam Development: Mentor and develop the R&D team, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and driving associate engagement and motivation.Continuous Improvement: Be relentless in your pursuit of excellence, regularly reevaluate processes and ways of working, finding ways to continuously improve, increasing quality and efficiency.About youSkills and QualificationsAdvanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in a relevant scientific or engineering field.Confirmed experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in a regulated industry, Medical Devices / Life Sciences preferred.Strong understanding of market dynamics and business strategy.Excellent leadership, communication, and social skills.Demonstrated ability to drive and lead complex projects.Track record of successful product development and commercialization.Experience in a matrixed organization, working across multiple locations and teams.Primary Work Location NLD Drachten – MarconilaanAdditional LocationsWork Shift
