Are you finishing seminary and looking for a meaningful first step in ministry? Do you feel called to walk alongside young people from diverse backgrounds, supporting them as they grow in faith?

We are seeking a relational, compassionate individual who thrives in an international community and is eager to invest personally in the lives of children within our community. APC ministries cater to children, youth and young adults, with the Director of Next Gen focusing on Youth Ministry (11–18). The position is especially well-suited for recent seminary graduates who are discerning a call to ordained ministry. The role combines teaching, discipleship, and outreach, supporting young people in their faith journey within a multi-denominational context. Preference will be given to candidates who are actively pursuing or considering ordination.

In this role, you will:

• Build Trusting Relationships: Connect with young people in meaningful ways, creating a safe and welcoming environment where they feel seen, heard, and valued.
• Journey Together: Walk alongside our youth and young adults, supporting them as they discover and deepen their faith, and encouraging them in their unique spiritual journeys.
• Foster Community: Help cultivate a sense of belonging among young people from various cultures and backgrounds, celebrating diversity and nurturing unity.
• Support and Guide: Offer gentle guidance, encouragement, and support, meeting youth and young adults where they are and helping them take the next steps in their spiritual walk.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead weekly youth activities (Bible study, worship, games, small groups, outings).
• Organise youth services, mission/service trips, and the youth conference.
• Oversee Sunday school ministry (ages 4–10), nursery (ages 0–3), and seasonal events (e.g., Christmas play, vacation Bible school, Church Retreat Kids and Youth Program).
• Support confirmation classes and mentorship with the Senior Pastor.
• Develop leaders, foster youth music ministry, and build community outreach.
• Oversee, lead and schedule the volunteer groups involved in Children’s and Youth Ministry.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree required (seminary training welcome).
• 2+ years’ experience in youth/children’s ministry (international/interdenominational preferred).
• Strong Christian faith, leadership and relational skills.
• Musical gifts or interest strongly desired.
• Fluent in English; German skills welcome (or willingness to learn).

Terms

• Full-time (40hrs inc. Sundays)
• Initial 2-year contract (with opportunity for renewal if mutually desired).
• Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
