The successful candidate will lead a major improvement programme, aligned to our strategic goals, which will foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout our organisation utilising a clearly defined improvement methodology. In September 2024, we changed our operational model to enable and achieve a culture of improving the quality of services, health outcomes and experience across the organisation. This presents an opportunity for the incumbent that is pivotal in delivering this ambition whilst demonstrating and role modelling the Trust values.At MFT, our people are our most valuable asset. This position will be pivotal in developing infrastructure that fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the entire quality management system. The role requires the post holder to collaborate with cross-functional departments and take responsibility for the development, design, and implementation of the strategic improvement delivery plan. We have recently restructured the Improvement Department and are in the process of developing the team to provide a high level of expertise in improvement to support those closest to work to improve their areas. This is a rare opportunity to be able to lead and take forward this willing and engaged team through the next phase of their improvement journey and to support the organisation to improve health outcomes and experience for our patients/carers and staff.You will certainly join the Trust at an exciting time and this new role presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced practitioner in large-scale organisational change. Applicants will be improvement experts having gained experience at Director level, ideally in an NHS organisation similar to MFT or from a Chief Improvement type role within a complex company or system. An enthusiastic individual with an inquisitive mind, we are looking for candidates who like to question the way things are done and who is able to identify innovative ways to develop systems, processes and people to achieve effective levels of performance, effectiveness and engagement.
