Further details about UCL can be found at .The Health Partnerships Team supports the development and management of strategic health projects and partnerships across UCL. The team provides stakeholder coordination, business case and strategy development, coordination of applications for infrastructure funding, relationship management and support for corporate governance and project reporting. 0coordinating activities that straddle HEI partners and NHS Foundation Trusts. The team also has a health governance role supporting the main UCL Fitness to Practice Panel and key health-related committees.About the rolePlease note the salary range for this role is circa £99,891The appointee to this key post will work in partnership with the Pro-Provost (Health) and the Director of Health Partnerships to co-lead the Pro-Provost (Health) portfolio and activities. The Director of Health Research Strategy, a post that is shared with the North Central London ICB, will leverage the strengths of UCL and the ICB to support research in the local community through UCL researchers working with local collaborators. The role-holder will have oversight of the coordination of the three biomedical research centres, four clinical research facilities and other major health research collaborations with the NHS. The Director of Health Research Strategy will also take a leading role in the development of UCL’s health strategy, overseeing the delivery framework, and the coordination of health work between UCL faculties.For UCL, the role-holder will:

  • lead the coordination of health across UCL faculties as a key member of the Life and Medical Sciences Leadership Group;
  • convene support for the UCL Health and Life Sciences Committee, a sub-committee of the University Management Committee;
  • have oversight of the framework of memoranda of understanding and agreements for health partners, working across UCL departments and partners to manage the operational implications, negotiating opportunities for best practice, consistency and efficiency across health;
  • contribute to UCL Grand Challenge projects, where there is alignment with Health Strategy priorities and opportunities.

For the North Central London Integrated Health Board, the role-holder will:

  • lead the development of the NCL ICS Research Strategy, working closely with communities;
  • lead the development of the research function within NCL ICS and maximise opportunities for collaboration. The appointee will ensure a coherent approach to research and innovation as well as increasing income generation;
  • assume responsibility for leading the ICB’s work in discharging its duties and responsibilities under the Health Act 2022 for the facilitation and promotion of research;
  • maintain and extend relationships between academic research, the ICB and wider ICS with key stakeholders;
  • develop the NCL Population Health and Integrated Care Strategy and drive equitable improvements to population health outcomes, contributing to delivery of the ICB’s Public Sector Equality Duty;
  • represent the Integrated Care System (ICS) regionally and nationally on research and benefits realisation work, advocating for the needs of residents and care teams in NCL.

About youThe successful candidate will be educated to master’s level in a health-related subject (or equivalent) with knowledge of research programme development and delivery, as well as the national and regional strategic policy landscape across health and care. The post-holder will have knowledge of NHS finance and contracting approaches, experience of working with complex datasets, and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a large budget. They will be a consummate communicator and negotiator with the ability to establish and maintain highly effective ways of working. They will be able to demonstrate a coherent approach across health partnership activities, with academic and national funding partners and with a complex network of stakeholders.
