A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Technical Director of Ecology to join its growing London team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading complex ecological projects, supporting high-profile developments, and mentoring a talented team of ecologists. Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership on ecological matters across a diverse range of projects, including infrastructure, residential, and mixed-use developments.

Oversee the design and delivery of ecological surveys, assessments, and mitigation strategies.
*

Lead on project direction, QA, and technical review to ensure work meets the highest professional standards.
*

Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering expert advice and contributing to business development.
*

Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members, promoting technical excellence and career growth.
*

Keep up to date with changes in UK legislation, policy, and industry best practice.

What They’re Looking For:

Extensive experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong technical background and leadership capabilities.

Degree (and ideally postgraduate qualification) in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
*

In-depth knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and ecological best practice.
*

Proven ability to manage complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
*

Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness.
