The Director, International Scientific Communication plays a pivotal role in advancing scientific and medical knowledge and enhancing the company’s reputation. This position involves cross-functional strategic planning, collaboration, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders for the International region, and work collaboratively with other global and regional functions. The successful candidate will contribute to scientific and medical communication, medical education initiatives, and expert relationship-building, to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes through evidence-based decisions.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee the development and dissemination of scientific and medical content, including abstracts, posters, oral presentations and manuscripts
  • Manage external parties (agencies/freelancers) to timely deliver materials
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and impactful scientific and medical communication
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of a comprehensive scientific and medical communication plan
  • Engage both internal teams and external healthcare professionals in educational initiatives
  • Facilitate with webinars, satellite symposia, and other scientific and medical educational events
  • Work closely with the cross-functional teams to create scientifically rigorous materials
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory guidelines and company objectives
  • Provide scientific expertise and serve as a subject matter expert
  • Support scientific and collaborative research projects within the region
  • Foster company growth and expansion in additional International geographies by providing scientific support to internal and external business partners
  • Through close collaboration with the Medical Affairs, Diagnosis Affairs, Market Access and Marketing teams, co-develop and execute the international scientific communication platform, leading to an integrated omnichannel communication plan

Qualifications and Skills

  • PhD in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Life Sciences, Pharmacology, Medicine)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in scientific affairs, scientific/medical communications, or related roles
  • Preferred experience in Endocrinology, Genetics, Internal Medicine, or Paediatrics
  • Knowledge of rare diseases is advantageous
  • Demonstrated track record in developing strategic plans related to scientific affairs
  • Strong knowledge of scientific publication processes and medical writing
  • Experienced in using medical and scientific databases and software
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in understanding and effectively communicating scientific and medical data results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with publication software management (i.e. iEvision, Datavision, Pubstrat)
  • Ideally, proficiency in a second European language
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Skilled at building solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 20%)
