As the top ranked U.S. company and sixth overall among the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, we take our global footprint seriously.Job Title: Director, Head of Design & Project Management, Data Centers EuropeCompany:PrologisDo you want to play a role in global commerce?Prologis is looking to recruit a Head of Design & Project Management, Data Centers Europe to lead the European Data Center Development Management function, responsible for the design, entitlement and construction of data center developments and refurbishment projects, in Europe.The role plays a fundamental role in our Site Selection, Land entitlement, Land development, Design Development, Procurement, Value Engineering and Design Optimization work, pushing boundaries through innovation, strategic sourcing and process improvements to compress schedules, reduce costs and advance alternate construction methods. You will partner with our Global Data Center & European Project Management teams to not only grow Prologis’ presence in the European Data Center market, but also align with cross continental leadership to create cohesive communication, management and strategy throughout our global network.The role includes coordination and coaching in all development management topics within Europe.Prologis is pursuing every opportunity to streamline its organization and processes.   • Act as part of the leadership team within the Data Center function with strong collaboration with capital deployment, project management, and leasing departments for both new development plans and land/building acquisition projects on both a European and global level.
  • Act as “Owner” of all Data Center design projects being it in pre-, during or post-implementation phase.
  • Overall responsibility, oversight and management of all construction related activities in live data center projects in conjunction with our development partners, if applicable including scope, timeline, and budget responsibilities.
  • Feasibility studies and technical due diligence for Data Center land / building acquisitions or conversion of existing buildings.
  • Aid in Planning consent, EIA, permitting, and infrastructure works for newly acquired land aimed at Data Center use.
  • Construction/project package drawing review & creation of project scope, request for proposals, and capital requests.
  • Work with Capital Deployment team from a design perspective to secure potential BTS opportunities.
  • Optimize building and development specifications based on life cycle analysis and optimized supply chain.
  • Cooperation with consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, government and building authorities involved in the projects.
  • Procure and setting up framework of suppliers (contractors, designers, and consultants) for land development and building development works.
  • Onboard, mentor, coach and oversee performance existing and new construction managers within the Data Cener function in Europe.
  • Maintain and enhance relationship with local authorities and manage permitting process.
  • Implement and enforce company’s “best practice” for project control procedures.
  • Accomplish human resource objectives by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures within team members.
  • Review high-level deliverables across projects.
  • Coordinating statutory authorities.
  • Through innovative mindset, initiate suggestions for company-wide process improvements
  • Arrange and participate in conferences between suppliers and engineers, permitting authorities, inspectors, and other company personnel to facilitate material specifications, substitutions, standardization, and economical procurement (including life cycle and supply chain analysis) of parts and equipment to be used as implementation of construction projects.

  • Great interest in project management in development, and/or general contracting, consulting, construction management.
  • Business driven mindset with strong experience in leading technical teams and developing professionals.
  • Proven track record in data center design and development
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or Architecture.
  • Proven knowledge of project management process and building process.
  • Good understanding of building law concerning design and execution of projects.
  • Ability to work close with investors, clients, project managers, site supervisors, general contractors, planners, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent command of English; able to read, write and negotiate in English.
  • Good understanding of construction management, variation control, cost tracking, quality control, tendering, budgeting, and permitting process.
  • Willingness to travel unrestricted in Europe if necessary.
