The Group’s vision is to be the aviation service provider of choice through excellence, experience, and expertise.PositionThe Director Compliance Monitoring, Operational Safety and Security must be accepted by the Belgian CAA and is reporting to the Accountable Manager. She/he is in charge of the overall responsibility for the safety management system, the security, the airworthiness review and the compliance monitoring at ASL Airlines Belgium.Compliance Monitoring

  • Monitor compliance with and adequacy of procedures as required Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities in order to ensure safe operational practices and airworthy aircraft.
  • Maintain the company’s aviation security program and procedures in compliance with all applicable policies and requirements (legal requirements but also industry standards and Group policies) applicable to ASLB.
  • Verify by monitoring activities in the field of Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Maintenance and Flight Crew Training that the standards required by the BCAA and any additional requirements defined by ASLB are carried out under the supervision of the relevant managers in order to ensure safe operational practices and airworthy aircraft.
  • Liaise with the BCAA and other Civil Aviation Authorities on matters relating to Compliance Monitoring.
  • Participate in relevant company projects and provide the project team with advice and expertise in order to achieve high quality results.

Aircraft Continuing Airworthiness

  • Supervise the airworthiness review of the ASL Airlines Belgium (ASLB) aircraft according to legal requirements and Group/Company policies, in order to assure the entire ASLB aircraft airworthiness reviews are performed on time.

Safety Management System (SMS)

  • Be responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of an effective safety management system (SMS).
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management.
  • Be the focal point for collecting and analysing hazards and maintaining a register of hazards, risks, and risk controls (mitigations).
  • Be responsible for the development and administration of Emergency Response Plan.

Company’s Security Program and Procedures

  • Maintain and monitor the implementation of the operator’s aviation security programme by keeping it compliant with all applicable regulations (such as Belgian National Security Programme, the European Regulation with regard to aviation security, ECAC and the requirements of Annex 17 to the Convention on International Civil

Aviation) in order to maintain the approval from any appropriate authority for security, when applicable, and comply to the legal requirements relating to aviation security in the geographic areas served by the operator;People Management

  • Manage the Safety, Security and Monitoring Compliance team, in compliance with the HR policies of the company.

Communication

  • Enhance relationships and communicate with other departments and subcontractors in order to ensure effective and efficient co-operation aiming to improve overall company performance.

Internal compliance

  • To comply with all relevant divisional and local company related policies, procedures and legal requirements.

  • At anytime and anywhere, to perform the activities and display the behaviours that are designed to deliver a distinctive Customer Experience.

Requirements

  • Holder of an engineering degree or theoretical ATPL.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance in Airline business (min 5 years).
  • Good knowledge of JAA/NAA/IATA regulations that are relevant to the company.
  • Being acceptable to the BCAA (experience is an asset).
  • Very high sense of confidentiality at all times.
  • In depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Decision-making oriented.
  • People Manager.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Being rigorous, precise, well organized, solution orientated, proactive, etc.
  • Demonstrate diplomacy, tactful and proactive approach as well as adaptability to the cultural environment exposed.
  • Fluency in English, French. Any other language is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbal at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Good organizational and editorial skills.
  • Being computer literate.
  • Displaying a positive, open and cooperative behavior in order to facilitate a good relationship inside and outside the department, avoid and help to solve conflicts.
  • Demand for personal flexibility and stress management.
