Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner for Europe Region.

The Direct Material Planner role is to create and maintain forecasts for non-seed direct material inputs needed for production orders. The role will develop plans, forecast, and execute our direct material sourcing and replenishment strategy to minimize ordering and carrying costs and prevent production downtime. In addition, this role will help lead and participate on cross functional teams to improve Supply Chain, quality, and reliability effectiveness and create and maintain KPIs to measure the quality of supply chain processes.

Bing part of the Operations Planning and System team and reporting to the Operations Planning and System leader, the Direct Material Planner will play a key role within SPSC Europe.

To better support the production locations, the role can be ideally based in any of the Seed Production plant in Europe (Aussonne, Sissa, Parndorf, Afumati, Szarvas, Adana, Poltava, Belgrade).

Primary Role Responsibilities:

Regional non-seed management:

  • Create and maintain forecasts for seed treatments, tag stock, bags and pallets

  • Create SAP Purchase Orders based on contracts signed by Corteva Procurement team

  • Develop and maintain model to manage replenishment of direct materials to production locations

  • Ensure new material numbers are created for new direct materials and BOMs are updated

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (mainly SAT, Marketing and Procurement) to ensure direct materials specs, SAT Treatment Strategy, Lumigen Declination and treatment registration in each market and in each bagging location are properly updated and maintained in A4E.

  • Identify and implement best practices for direct material inventory management

  • Create and manage KPIs measuring direct material management processes

Production location support:

  • Assist production locations with monitoring and managing Treatments shelf life expiration

  • Liaise between SAT and production locations to ensure recipes are updated, tested (PASSER) and validated according to equipment and Selling Country regulation

  • Assist production locations in defining and maintaining recipes in A4E-Plant Scheduling

  • Ensure accurate and timely consumption of direct materials on each Process Order

Works closely with other business partners such as Procurement, Compliance, IT, and Commercial entities.

  • Ensure compliance with treatment, labeling and packaging laws

  • Work jointly with procurement when forecasting annual purchases and new products

  • Work jointly with A4E team to develop enhancement to A4E and SAP (if needed) to support and increase traceability of Direct Materials management

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business or Agricultural related fields or equivalent amount of education and experience

  • 2+ years of agriculture business, supply chain or operations experience

  • Working knowledge or ability to learn Excel, SQL and SAP systems

  • Working knowledge or ability to learn Reporting and ETL tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work closely with peers in a team environment

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills 

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong financial acumen

  • High level of issue identification, problem solving, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to influence and coordinate effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
