Direct categories / Insurance Procurement Global Category Manager for APac Europe
Location: Paris
Global Sourcing & Procurement is a department that manages third-party strategy and ”external operations” for Information Technology Direct Categories/Insurance Procurement, and Transversal/Indirect Categories and General Expenses. It is a truly global function that manages procurement projects for the whole division, regardless of location.
The Direct/Insurance scope is a broader view of Insurance Procurement, initially focused on the Claims Supply Chain, as it encompasses sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and overall performance tracking of external vendors instructed and engaged across the entire insurance value chain (Risk engineering, Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance). Due to the regionalisation of value chains in the insurance business, this position deals with AXA XL APac Europe regional operations. Similar positions exist for the two other regions (Americas, UK & Lloyds). This role is supported by a dedicated worldwide Global Category Manager managing the Corporate legal scope.
This position reports to the Global Head of Direct Categories / Insurance Procurement Regional Engagement, and a Senior Procurement specialist reports to this position

What will your essential responsibilities include?
By managing the provider portfolio in APac Europe, your role is to:
1. Deliver value to AXA XL and to end-customers / intermediaries by defining and implementing category strategies,
2. Contribute to AXA XL profitability (on fee spend and indemnity payouts) and contribute to revenue growth (through the development of the product offering),
3. Oversee the end-to-end procurement process in close cooperation with the business stakeholders and any other Subject Matter Expert -SME- (Legal, Information Security, Data Privacy, Sustainability)
4. Understand needs definition (e.g.: identify high-risk and manage critical suppliers with Third Party Risk Management team and the business stakeholders, challenge vendor status/usage based on spend figures and trends…),
5. Drive change via data analysis and stimulate innovation through market intelligence,
6. Investigate opportunities to leverage the Group size with Group Procurement and Insurance procurement teams of other AXA local entities in APac Europe.
Execution of the strategies will require the ability to work across multiple executive and senior stakeholders and drive governance processes to ensure appropriate decision-making.
Overseeing the Direct categories / Insurance procurement for AXA XL APac Europe region, your key activities are:
- Contribute to the translation of AXA XL Direct Categories / Insurance Procurement vision and functional strategy into regional approaches, and
- Implement sourcing projects, including RFx, and be accountable for results from sourcing to payment in coordination with Procurement Operations team
- Develop and manage supplier relationships jointly with business stakeholders,
- Track and report metrics and secure data quality and compliance in all Procurement tools
- Educate customers in relevant procurement and contract management skills and techniques; ensure compliance with procurement policies, standards and guidelines

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:
o In-depth knowledge and experience (10-15 years) of procurement processes and methodologies including the relevant supply markets with particular emphasis on Insurance, Claims, Legal and Non-legal services
o Good interpersonal skills – internal influencing, “selling” stakeholder management, persuasiveness in an international environment (English is mandatoryand multi-lingual capabilities are a plus (French, Italian, German, …)
o Team player- the ability to work in a team environment to deliver strategic goals
