Job title:

DIGITAL TWIN IMPLEMENTATION FOR VIRAL VECTOR PRODUCTION PROCESS

Company:

Job description

Offer DescriptionThe biopharmaceutical industry, including gene therapy, represents a significant percentage of Belgian economical activities. Bioprocessing based on digital twins and process analytical technologies are key areas of innovation for the pharmaceutical industry, and the present project will use digital twin implementation for streamlining and up-scaling the viral vector production process (see below). This research project, offering a 4-year PhD fellowship, will be developed at the UMONS – CER in collaboration with a consortium of Belgian Universities and aims to model the viral vector production process, including parameter estimation, process optimization, hybrid modeling and machine learning. The applicant profile should therefore be of a control engineer, electrical engineer, chemical or biochemical engineer, preferentially with a background in systems, mathematical modeling and machine learning. This applied research project targets modeling of bioprocesses in a broad sense, focusing on:– Data-driven modeling techniques– System identifiability– Hybrid modeling– Physics-informed machine learningThe research will be achieved in the SECO (Systemes, Estimation, Control and Optimization) Lab of the University of Mons (Mons, Belgium) but also in possible partnership with another european research group (with possible long stays abroad).Funding category: Financement public/privé
