What will you be doing?:BDO’s Digital Advisory Teams are successful in providing advice and support to our clients on their Digital Transformation projects. As a Digital Project Portfolio and IT spend Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the overall project portfolio, resource management, planning, execution and delivery of digital projects. You will work with our clients on project, programme and portfolio level, ensuring the customer is “doing the right thing” and “doing things right”.Key advisory responsibilities :

  • Manage digital project portfolios within a wider corporate context, making use of resource management (human and budgetary) and portfolio balancing techniques (e.g. prioritization methods, strategic alignment, etc.)
  • Lead and manage digital transformation projects and programmes from planning to execution, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline
  • Perform resource management exercises, balancing the human and budgetary resources to ensure proper allocation and planning
  • Manage IT spend (run & change) and provide insights on how customers can optimize costs and value delivery of IT
  • Assist customers in implementing leading practices in their organizations and be knowledgeable on how to use existing tooling (e.g. Planview, Clarizen, Clarity, MS Projects, Monday.com, etc.)
  • Provide guidance and training to clients on new ways of working and tooling
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying new business opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital trends and technologies to continuously improve our services and maintain a competitive edge.

Key team responsibilities :

  • Assist in team development by coaching more junior team members
  • Work across advisory teams to evangelize and infuse IT Project Portfolio management and IT spend knowledge in the existing service offerings, as well as develop new offerings
  • Foster knowledge sharing and provide internal trainings on IT project portfolio management and IT spend
  • Connect in the global BDO network and contribute to product / service development
  • Act as a driving factor in the commercial development of the team (pitching, proposal writing, …)

What do you bring to the table?:

  • Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering (option IT), Computer science, Business administration, or related field
  • Ideally 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role within another consulting or corporate environment
  • Proven expertise in IT project portfolio management and IT financials/spend. Experience with benchmarking is a plus
  • Certification or proven education in the field is a plus (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP), Managing Successful Programmes, the standard for Portfolio Management, Technology Business Management, etc.)
  • Outstanding communication skills fluency in English and Dutch or French
  • Pragmatic and creative mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously within a strong team setting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
