The Digital Manger – Power and New Energy Technologies is accountable for all Digital and IT products and delivery covering the entire portfolio of Power Technologies, and integrating with the other IDT businesses:

  • Renewable Generation (Wind, Solar, Grid connection, Energy access)

  • eMobility (integrated charging, Fleet design, V2G)

  • Energy Storage and Integration technologies (power storage, green Hydrogen and P2G, home energy solutions, microgrids, VPP)

  • Electrification and Platforms (electrification of demand and heat, digital products)

What’s the role?

In your role as Digital Manager – Power and New Energy Technologies you are end-to-end accountable for the full reach and scope of the Power Digital products and its IT delivery and integrating with the respective business IT (e.g. Renewable and Energy Solutions (RES), e-Mobility, Trading). You own the IT Strategic Plan for the Product (Lines) to co-create and evergreen IT’s technology and data response to business vision, priorities, and challenges, and actively steer and participate in initiatives.

Adjoining the IT & Digital Strategic Plan, the Digital Manager must identify, select, refine, and relentlessly manage a robust pipeline of technology and data opportunities that target the unlocking of new sources of business value in the power technology space. Equal emphasis should be placed on value realisation from optimisation opportunities, as well as scale and replicate those. You need to ensure that successful innovations from Power Technologies seamlessly land in the various IT portfolios (a.o. RES, Trading, e-Mobility) and their respective businesses.

The Digital Manager – Power and New Energy Technologies must manage risk across the Product lines / Portfolio and drive compliance to agreed Enterprise IDT standards, representing this agenda equally to business stakeholders, while in the meantime understanding and enabling the innovative character of Power Technologies. The business-facing natural teams and their IT counterparts must be mobilized by this IDT Manager and orchestrated effectively to understand the business vision and deliver key outcomes, as captured in the corresponding IT / Digital Strategic Plan.

Key components of the role include:

  • Excellent Stakeholder Management and Business Partnering (i.e., Integrated Business and IT Strategy)

  • Integrator and orchestrator between various parts of IT touching Power Tech (e.g RES, e-Mobility and Trading).

  • Strong IT Portfolio Management

  • Innovation and Product Mindset

What we need from you

You are a good candidate for the Digital Manager – Power and New Energy Technologies, if you have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Extensive years in IT and IT Management in the Power Industry

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in IT or Business or related discipline

  • Able to explain and apply the main IT delivery processes in Shell and explain the value, especially applied in the dynamic work of Power Technologies.

  • Able to apply the IT Strategic Roadmap and related services and standards

  • Understands and able to showcase applying developments in important power technology business domains like renewable asset integration, micro grids, energy storage systems, trading, and optimization, PPAs etc.

  • Understands and able to showcase applying developments in important technology domains like Cloud, Customer Engagement, Integration, Analytics, OpenSource, and IoT

  • Maintains an active view of the external market development and integrates these in the delivery of IT solutions

  • Able to assess and manage vulnerability of technology and relevant Information Risks

  • Understand the various IT teams and broad understanding of RES, e-Mobility, and Trading businesses

  • Understand Systems thinking
