About you and this role

We have an exciting opportunity for aGeographic Digital Communications Manager! This role can be located in eitherWiesbaden(Germany) orTerneuzen(The Netherlands), other EU locations might be considered.

As the EMEAI Geographic Digital Communications Manager (the Manager), you create and implement comprehensive strategies to effectively leverage digital channels in achieving specific geographic, business, and functional outcomes. You educate and coach corporate, geographic and functional partners on ways to use social media and the corporate website to achieve their target outcomes, in line with Dow’s brand platform.

Responsibilities

Consulting & Engaging

  • Supports the geographic communications teams and internal stakeholders with social media strategy.

  • Acts as a linking pin to translate the global Brand & Digital strategy and developments into strategies specific to EMEAI.

  • Maintain strong relations with the Corporate Social Media and Enterprise Editorial Managers, business Social Media Managers and the Corporate Brand, Reputation and Digital team.

  • Trains other communicators and corporate influencers in content creation for digital channels and in targeted social media usage

  • Educates and coaches the geographic communications teams on metrics and analytics implementation, reporting, and strategies for growth.

  • Tracks digital channels to understand where stakeholders are the most active and leverages knowledge for future digital strategy

  • Activates as a support to the Corporate Crisis Management Team (CMT) as crisis or potential crisis circumstances arise

Content creation & management

  • Utilizes the global social content strategy and manages the editorial calendar tailored for the EMEAI region

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders across businesses and functions to create content for a consistent and optimized presence across all social media and digital platforms, intranet, and corporate website (e.g., blogs, tweets, videos, RSS feeds, podcasts)

  • Captures online feedback and passes it to internal teams for consideration in future content creation and messaging

  • Shares best practices across teams and regions.

Monitoring & optimization

  • Drives and tracks the company’s social media presence across relevant sites and platforms in EMEAI

  • Manages online presence by tracking and listening to users, reading discussion forums, and coordinating with company experts and communications partners on appropriate responses

  • Applies new social media tools and applications to increase the user base and engagement

  • Keeps up to date with new and emerging digital platforms and trends to leverage social media usage

  • Identifies and monitors effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of digital channels and social media programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or similar

  • 5-8 years of experience

  • Excellent writer and content creator; emphasis on writing for social channels

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German and/or Dutch

  • Curious, process-driven and highly organized

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Ability to build relationships across a geographically and culturally diverse team
