Bees for Development is the global charity making lives better with bees. We promote sustainable beekeeping to combat poverty, build resilient livelihoods and benefit biodiversity.
Since we were founded in 1993, we have worked in more than 50 nations worldwide and raised several million pounds to support livelihoods and restore habitat, by means of beekeeping, working with some of the world’s poorest communities.
Most of our funds are given by donors, supporting companies and businesses, and raised by us from on-line campaigns and fundraising events. We receive funds also from donor agencies and charitable trusts, and we undertake consultancies. Revenue from our shop in Monmouth and from our training courses in UK also support our work.
At our headquarters in Monmouth our team are responsible for the day-to-day running of Bees for Development, working collaboratively with our overseas partner organisations and a small number of dedicated volunteers, who together with our Trustees, work to achieve our strategic goals.
