Design Engineer

Tool Designer – JBTMarel Proseal (Adlington UK)

As a Tool Designer you’ll be developing CAD drawings for all Proseal Machine tooling.

The drawings/documents will be developed in accordance with our standard machinery or to customer specifications.

The type of drawings will involve mechanical and electrical layouts/schematics and equipment datasheets.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

• Carrying out the design process and development for both new and existing products to
• ensure accuracy and quality.
• To be responsible for preparing bills of materials for the manufacture of the designs and
• assemblies, including documenting of all part numbers and drawing references
• To liaise with colleagues, assisting with potential quality issues through production
• Interpreting customer ideas and preparing drawings and 3D models for manufacture,
• including all dimensions, tolerances, finishes and notes
• Assisting Managers and colleagues with matters relating to product development
• To identify opportunities to reduce costs in the design, materials used and manufacturing
• techniques
• To provide feedback for continuous improvement of products and services

Qualifications/ Experience:

• An Engineering Qualification ONC/HNC/HND
• Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience
• Understanding of mechanical and/or Electrical installation
• AutoCAD 2D design experience
• Good understanding of 3D Cad design (Solidworks)
