What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Decarbonisation Data Manager to lead carbon accounting efforts and help embed carbon accounting, monitoring, and reporting within NRC. This role will also play a key part in supporting decarbonisation initiatives by establishing baselines, evaluating the benefits of various strategies, and tracking progress. The position is part of the Reducing Environmental Footprint Team within the Global Logistics Unit.
What you will do:
Carbon Footprint accounting and reporting
- Prepare and collect data from NRC systems and teams. Conduct quality control and analysis of data.
- Update carbon factors and calculate NRC’s 2024 carbon emissions footprint.
- Conduct analysis and produce external carbon footprint report
- Update carbon dashboards and provide country specific data.
- Participate and represent NRC where relevant in interagency groups and forums for environmental impact and carbon footprint reduction.
Carbon Accounting Institutionalisation
- Conduct a mapping of carbon monitoring approaches from sector and beyond.
- Define requirements for carbon accounting in NRC focused on a method that meets ESG requirements.
- Collaborate with data system focal points in NRC to identify the requirements and limitations for data collection.
- Define communications requirements, approach and template formats.
Inform decarbonisation initiatives
- Provide of carbon data and analysis on request for the purpose of funding proposals
- Provide data and analysis to support decarbonisation projects and improve carbon accounting to capture the results of any decarbonisation projects underway which would otherwise be missed due to the use of proxy factors.
- Provision of energy data specific to sites applying to use the capital fund for baselines and reporting.
- Ensure that carbon accounting accurately captures the reductions as a result of solarisation projects

What you will bring:
- Proven experience leading environmental or data projects and delivering results.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject.
- Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working with a remote team, and can easily work with non-technical colleagues
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proactive in keeping up to date with standards and innovations
- Previous experience from working in the humanitarian sector is an advantage
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience of carbon emissions monitoring and analysis
- Strong communications skills and understanding of stakeholder perspectives.
- A creative approach to sharing data and findings to engage and inspire non-specialists
- Experience of implementing and updating PowerBI dashboards
- Working level of French, Arabic or Spanish is an advantage.
What we offer:
- Duty station: Berlin, Germany.
- Contract: 12 months.
- Travel: 5%.
- Salary/benefits: grade 8 on NRC’s national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions
