- You will join a team of more or less 30 control strategy- and modeling experts that develop the controls software for our hybrid DCT transmission family.
- The controls team works according to the agile scrum methodology under the guidance of a scrum master and product owner.
- The controls software is developed according to our Model Based Development process (V-cycle) with Simulink. You will be involved in every step of the software development Vcycle, i.e. defining the requirements (in alignment with the customer), designing the control strategies, implementing them in Simulink, verifying and validating them on different platforms (MiL, HiL, test bench, vehicle).
- As DCT Controls Engineer – Validation & Calibration you will focus on integrating, testing, validating and calibrating the controls software, and also on providing test support for teams that use the software for testing activities.
- You will make test plans and write and execute test cases & -scenario’s based on the requirements to validate the controls software on HIL, test bench and in vehicle.
- You will analyze why tests fail and then align with controls software developers or calibration engineers how the problems can be solved. Although controls software developers are the function owners, you will play an active role in suggesting software or calibration fixes.
- You will investigate hardware-software or system integration problems and try to come up with solutions.
- You will maintain the controls test vehicles to make sure that they are up and running with the correct SW’s and calibration of all the involved control units that matches with the installed transmission hardware.
- You will perform first calibration of the functions in the software before handing it over to the calibration team for further fine-tuning.
- You will analyze test data and document results and findings in test reports.
- The goal is to obtain fully validated controls software before it is released and handed over to another team within Punch or to the customers.
- You will also provide first line support to other teams who use the software for development and testing activities. This can be internal test and validation team, calibration team, EOL at the customer production line, vehicle commissioning activities.
- You need to have a brought understanding of the controls software to be able to do a first analysis to resolve the problem yourself or involve other controls specialists where needed.
- You will spend a lot of time at the testbenches or in the vehicles. Required qualifications :
- Master in the field of Automotive, Mechatronics, Systems, Controls, Computer or Electrical Engineering.
- Looking for both juniors profiles directly from university as for people with relevant experience.
- Good knowledge about transmissions in general, including hybrid functions (e.g. electric/hybrid drive, e-creep, electric engine restart, etc.)
- Good understanding about system/powertrain dynamics (e.g. transmission shifting dynamics)
- Excellent knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, particularly Stateflow
- You have relevant experience with test bench setups and vehicle level testing
- You have basic knowledge of an embedded system environment.
- You proceed according to a good methodology in development and problem solving.
- You are well organized, you have strong analytical and communication skills.
- You are an excellent team player with a positive mindset and a can-do attitude.
