• Data Analysis and Exploration: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within large and complex data sets. Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques and data visualization tools to present findings in a clear and meaningful manner.
• Model Development: Develop and implement advanced analytical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive models to solve business problems. This includes data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, and performance evaluation.
• Data engineering: Collect, clean, and preprocess large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources. This involves data wrangling, data integration, and data quality assessment and improvement to maximize accuracy and reliability.
• Decision support: Design decision making algorithms and loss functions for maximal effectiveness and robustness. Measure and manage risk, making sure that unwanted behavio is avoided. Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to measure the effectiveness of different strategies or interventions.
• Machine Learning Implementation: Collaborate with software engineers and developers to deploy machine learning models into production systems. Ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability of the models while maintaining data privacy and security.
• Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders. Present findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with – and within – cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, software developers, and domain experts, to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions. Clearly articulate complex concepts and methodologies to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
• Driving safety, quality and business improvements by ensuring that structures, systems, processes and procedures are co-ordinated, effective and efficient to meet business, commercial and management systems requirements whilst improving margin to meet business objectives.
• Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, AI, and related fields. Explore new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance the team’s capabilities and drive innovation.
• Liaise with other business areas/offices to ensure consistency in development and delivery of business/commercial services to internal and external clients.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering data-driven solutions.
• Expertise in Python, along with knowledge of SQL and other database languages and formats for data manipulation and extraction
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts, machine learning algorithms, including LLMs and LFMs, and predictive modeling techniques.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib and Plotly – both static and interactive.
• Experienced in formulating and implementing project plans and strategies to meet operational objectives
• You must be customer focused. It is a plus if you are able to build sustainable, operational and commercial relationships and alliances
• You must be an experienced Docker user. Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Hadoop, Spark) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
