A new team focused on creating a new data foundationWithin Global IT and the Enterprise Transformation team, you will be welcomed into the Product Advanced Analytics team that has 6 specialists – 2 profiling analysts, 2 data engineers, and 2 mapping analysts.Together, we are supporting DSV’s transformation to become more sustainable and digital through understanding how data can be utilised, structured, linked, and mapped. To achieve this, we are creating a new data foundation – a new data platform.This is a very new team that has an entrepreneurial feel to it – we work with change, transformation, and creating something completely new, so sometimes our end goal and the way we get there change. But that is also what makes this an amazing opportunity to make an impact on our organisation Daniël van Staden, Manager, Products & SoftwareMany of us work remote (as you can also do), so we make it a priority to connect through teams and other tools.Ensure completeness, validity and accuracyAfter one of your analyst colleagues has secured data mapping, you will take the mapped version and create structured queries and make preliminary tests to ensure completeness, validity, and accuracy. Doing so, you might be looking for data gaps, overall ensuring that the mapping is ready to be handed over to the next stakeholder.Your role will be a crucial link between our technical division and the business aspect when you collaborate closely with multiple other departments. More specifically, you will:
- Perform in-depth data profiling and analysis to uncover patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies in data
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to define data requirements and ensure data quality
- Develop and execute data validation and verification processes to document and improve data integrity and quality
- Create detailed reports and visualisations to communicate data profiling results and insights
- Provide recommendations for improving data quality, consistency, and usability
You are data savvy and have strong analytical skillsYour solid problem-solving and analytics skills make you amazing at handling detailed data analysis. At the same time, you have great visual, presentation and communication abilities and understand, that our results are only as good as how we present them – also when presenting them to non-technical colleagues.Furthermore, we imagine that you:
- Have a bachelor’s degree or higher ain Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Bring some experience in data profiling, data analysis, using tools like Databricks or similar
- Have proficiency in SQL and knowledge of programming languages like Python for querying and analysing large datasets
- Have an excellent level of written and spoken English
- Have a curiosity and motivation to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes
- Are able to navigate in a transformative setting and adapt to new goals and processes along the way
