Data Engineer/-AnalystWe are building an independent ATM-network offering qualitative cash services to all individuals and merchants in Belgium.
We set the goal to become the largest player on the Belgian market in the next few years. In order to support our expanding business, we are looking for a new colleague to join the team.As a Data Engineer/Analyst, you will work on building, maintaining and optimizing data pipelines, as well as preparing and analyzing data to support business insights. You will collaborate closely with data analysts to ensure that data is accessible, clean, and ready for analytical purposes.Key Responsibilities:1. Data pipeline development:Design, build and maintain efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large datasets from various sources.Automate data workflows to support real-time and batch data processing.2. Data collection and ingestion:Integrate and ingest data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, flat files) into structured formats suitable for analysis.Ensure ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes are robust, scalable, and well-documented.3. Data cleaning & transformation:Perform advanced data cleaning & transformation, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems.Work on data validation, deduplication, and error detection to guarantee data quality.4. Data analysis & reporting:Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and insights.Generate reports and dashboards for business stakeholders using tools like SQL, Python or Power BI.Collaborate with the business lines to prepare data for modeling and business forecasting.5. Database management:Optimize and maintain data storage systems (e.g. data lakes, data warehouses).Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, ensuring data accessibility and efficiency.6. Automation & workflow optimization:Automate repetitive tasks using Python, SQL, or workflow automated tools.

Develop and maintain scheduling systems for data pipelines and ETL jobs.7. Data quality monitoring:Set up data monitoring systems to ensure continuous quality control, including alerting for missing or erroneous data.Implement data governance practices to support data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.8. Documentation:Document data engineering processes, pipeline architecture, and any system configurations.Maintain clear documentation of data sources, transformation rules, and data storage architecture for future references.9. Learning and development:Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and best practices in data engineering and analytics.Engage in team discussions, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.10. Support in data security and compliance:Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations.Implement access controls and data encryption mechanisms where necessary.What do we expect?Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.Equivalent experience or certifications in data engineering or analytics may also be considered.Proficiency in SQL, experience in Python or Power Query, experience with ETL tools.Experience in creating and maintaining data pipelines, understanding data modeling techniques and database optimization strategies.You’re the one we are looking for?We offer you a competitive compensation with a flexible vacation policy and work conditions.
