You’re not just working at a company; you’re joining a vital, global team.Equinix Italy is hiring a Facility Technician located in Milan.Your main role will be to provide an effective maintenance and repair electrical, mechanical and special systems throughout the Data Center to minimize breakdowns and down time and maximize operating efficiencies.ResponsibilitiesCarry out an intensive program of planned preventive/corrective maintenance for the building and utilitiesCarry out routine maintenance on all company machinery and equipment to include fault finding, problem solving and minor repairs to minimize down timeFull, accurate and timely completion of all maintenance logs, schedules, etc. to comply with Health and Safety legislation and company, insurance and ISO requirements, etcContact external contractors as required and accompany/assist them while on siteEnsure there are adequate supplies of spares on site for commonly used parts or those with a long lead timeCreate & continuously update technical files for plant & equipment from liaison with suppliers, operator or own knowledge, etc.Carry out daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks and inspections and takes timely corrective action. Report problems and/or unsafe practices to relevant Supervisor and Health and Safety, together with any recommendations for improvements
Carry out all minor mechanical, electrical and special systems repairs in relation to buildings and utilities, planned and executed in such a way so as to minimize risk or inconvenience to othersCarry out minor modifications to mechanical, electrical and special plants as requiredEnsure quality procedures relating to maintenance are followed eg. calibration of measuring equipmentTroubleshooting & maintenance for office equipment if requiredReview processes, procedures, systems, paperwork, etc. in own area, and make suggestions for improvementCommunicate process changes to relevant parties in order that relevant follow up may be carried out, eg trainingEnsure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or machine down time to relevant personnelLiaise with suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and overcome problemsAny other reasonable duties or project work which may be required by management from time to timeQualificationsGood literacy and numeracy skills and relevant mechanical/electrical engineering qualificationAvailability for overtime and on callGood attendance & timekeeping recordItalian & English fluentResults DrivenTeamworkOwnershipEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
