Role Description:As a Data Analyst (DA) for Talent you will perform both ad hoc analysis, regular reporting that delivers relevant, action-oriented and innovative recommendations to Talent leads and managers which result in tangible Talent Acquisition Improvements. The DA provides analysis, reports and data insights that helps prioritize efforts and enables data-driven decisions, optimizing Talents’ impact through effective storytelling.The successful DA will initiate, validate, prioritize and work on projects autonomously and command strong stakeholder management skills.Key Responsibilities
- Builds dashboards, analysis and reporting that help stakeholders understand the performance, risks and opportunities.
- Perform analysis to deep-dive business challenges or opportunities, on request and on your own initiative.
- Use creative and innovative thinking to identify different opportunities to further improve Talent processes while using a data driven approach.
- Work with stakeholders to understand their objects and goals and prepare strong insights that provide visibility and turn this into practical KPI’s.
- Deliver regular and ad hoc reports with clear and actionable insights.
- Maintain key reports, metrics and workflows running within their scope by collaborating with teams and peers to communicate results and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively, candidly, collaboratively, and challenge constructively to create rapport and establish trust.
- Ensure high quality output, by taking quality assurance measures.
- Work independently with limited guidance of Analytics Manager / TL or business stakeholder on data collection and preparation.
- Use Talent wide data to take complex scenarios to translate business problems into data stories.
- Deliver easy to understand analysis or reports from clearly specified and prioritized business topics.
- Optimize existing analysis, reportings and data insights to align with the fast paced environment that changes rapidly.
- Actively participate in business and/or analytics team activities (standup, planning meeting, retrospectives).
- Awareness of statistical models used within their scope.
- Familiarity with the larger data ecosystem at Booking and understanding of how it relates to the data.
- Open to adopting new approaches and expanding technical competencies when a more efficient way presents itself.
- Demonstrates accountability overall when delivering actionable reporting.
- Communicates challenges, opportunities and actions to improve data quality and consistency within the team.
- Proactively identify automation solutions on the different deliverables to have updated data.
Stakeholder Management
- Use data and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and innovate towards achieving ambitions together and create high performing working relationships.
- Aligns autonomously with the stakeholders what will be delivered and when, prioritizes items on what is being worked on and what can be expected when.
Requirements of special knowledge/skills
- Demonstrated track record of performing data analysis and translating into business opportunities to aid stakeholders decision making.
- Strong technical skills who proactively improves processes and automates tasks.
- Able to present findings in an effective, structured and actionable way to a wide set of audiences with varying levels of understanding.
- Able to explain complex problems, analyses and topics in concise, clear and simple terms.
- Advanced knowledge of using SQL and relational databases to query and extract data.
- Highly proficient in using data analysis, reporting and visualization tools: e.g. Tableau, Excel, Google sheets.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to manage expectations on delivery and influencing opinion using data.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and in a flexible environment to aid analysis and external factors that need to be considered in their analysis.
- Able to effectively build a relevant network in the organization and strong relationships with direct stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized that can reprioritize effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal presentation skills, highly data driven with exceptionally high attention to detail
