Then this role might be the perfect match for you!At ABN AMRO we are looking for a hands-on, results-driven Business Analyst / Data Analyst to join our Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Grid department. ALM can be described as a bank within the bank, as our department sits at the heart of the bank and is responsible for managing the bank’s balance sheet in terms of interest rate, liquidity, and capital risks.You’ll be joining a team of versatile engineers and business developers, and together you will be responsible for managing and improving ALM data processes and applications in an Agile and DevOps environment to deliver insights and reports for our stakeholders, who include the Board of Directors and other business segments of the bank, as well as external supervisory authorities like the DNB and ECB. Next to this, you will be involved in preparing and aligning the current solutions of your department to the Finance & Risk future target architecture and IT solution.Your workAs a Business Analyst / Data Analyst, you are able to look at ALM challenges through the eyes of a stakeholder. You will work on multiple projects where you will initiate, improve and implement the processes, systems and data that your team is responsible for, with the focus on data analysis. You will be able to advise and convince stakeholders of the best approach based on your knowledge and analytical expertise, and work closely with other business and IT developers to achieve the goals of the ALM department.Work environmentThe ALM Grid department is a diverse, dynamic and international environment. The ALM Grid consists of seven teams which are mainly organized according to the risk type domains (Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Funds Transfer Pricing) and the data domain. You will be working in the data domain teams supporting the risk type teams with their data needs. We have an open and social culture, and value interpersonal at least as much as business and technical skills. You will get to work in:

  • One of the front-running departments of ABN AMRO that takes pride in delivering robust and manageable future-proof solutions using the latest IT standards and technologies
  • A multidisciplinary and multicultural self-organizing Agile-Scrum DevOps team (typically 5-9 people per team) that enjoys close cooperation with its stakeholders

The stakeholder field of the ALM Grid mainly consists of the ALM department itself, 2nd line ALM, ALM Risk modelling, Risk Reporting and Model Validation. Also, the data sources delivering parties are important stakeholders. In addition, your stakeholders are also the parties which consume the data to meet internal and external requirements. The final ALM reports, insights and analyses are discussed in senior management bodies like ALCO, BRC and ERM.Your profileWe are looking for someone with a proactive and constructively critical attitude who is not afraid to tackle challenges head on. Besides a healthy knowledge/interest in complex and analytical matters (which characterizes ALM), you should possess the following skill-set:

  • HBO / University education
  • 5 (or more) years of work experience
  • Strong communicator with excellent command of English (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of banking products and/or ALM processes
  • Knowledge of data processing management and ETL
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, and/or similar data analysis tools
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to quickly grasp complex business flows at a high level
  • Supporting and collaborating with stakeholders and other departments
  • Drive to improve self and the team
  • Organizational sensitivity and able to adopt different styles to optimize effectiveness
  • Taking ownership and guide the development team in the right direction
