Job DescriptionWorking within our client’s R&D department in Romania, you will closely collaborate with various teams, including marketing, sales, sourcing, quality assurance (with a focus on food regulations), and operations. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the development and design of cutting-edge solutions tailored to the needs of the meat clientele.Location: Alba, Romania.Responsibilities:Develop solutions based on customer briefs provided by our sales team, ensuring all customer requirements are met, while adhering to internal rules, procedures, and current food legislation.In the process of developing concepts, the R&D specialist is responsible for understanding and anticipating customer needs and aligning them with current market trends. They are also responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies in processing and ingredients, legislation, nutritional guidelines, and labeling requirements. This involves participating in training, conducting literature research, and engaging in knowledge transfer through technical discussions to deliver products that meet customer needs.The R&D specialist will conceptualize recipes and conduct testing in the laboratory. Additionally, in collaboration with the technical support team, they will oversee the testing of solutions on an industrial scale.

Provide R&D support to fellow colleagues, offering expertise in organoleptic evaluation, technical problem-solving, and contributing to brainstorming sessions. This support also extends to cross-functional teams within the our client group.Actively participate in the transfer of products from the broader group and adapt them to local market specifics.Job Requirements:Soft Skills:

Hard Skills:

  • Educational background: Master’s degree in Food Science or Biotechnologies of Food Chemistry
  • Excellent knowledge of ingredients and flavoring components
  • Strong knowledge of various meat processing techniques, with a robust technological background in the meat industry
  • Proficiency in sensory evaluation and tasting
  • In-depth understanding of food legislation
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong project management skills

IT Skills: Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications.
