Shift Engineer – Critical Facilities / Data Centre # ; London

The Opportunity Step into the world of mission-critical engineering. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join a forward-thinking team supporting a high-availability data centre environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge infrastructure while building a clear, long-term engineering career within critical facilities.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems that support 24/7 critical operations.
Key Responsibilities

– Operate, monitor, and maintain LV/MV electrical systems, mechanical plant, HVAC, UPS, and generators
– Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults to maintain maximum system uptime
– Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
– Carry out authorised high- and low-voltage switching in line with Safe Systems of Work
– Supervise subcontractors, ensuring full compliance with health & safety and operational standards
– Monitor systems and manage faults using BMS, PMS, and CMS platforms

What We’re Looking For

– Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification
– Proven experience within critical facilities, data centres, or other high-pressure environments
– Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and building services
– A confident problem-solver with strong communication and teamwork skills
– NCC, REC, or equivalent certifications (desirable but not essential)
