ING WB Transaction Approval & Advice is looking for a Credit Risk OfficerThe department: CRO/WB/Transaction Approval & AdviceThe dynamic Transaction Approval & Advice (‘TA&A’) department within the Wholesale Bank CRO domain is responsible for the analysis, advice and decision making of tailored (lending) transactions for our key WB Sector and Lending clients and supporting these clients in their success whilst safeguarding the risk appetite of the bank. The risk managers (SCOs and risk officers) have a deep understanding of credit structuring, credit risk and businesses & markets, next to the assessment of related risks like ESG, compliance and climate risk. In addition to the asset-by-asset approval process, the risk managers manage their portfolio and advice senior management on strategic direction in terms of risk appetite and portfolio steering.Our Amsterdam department employs ~65 persons and is organized in 5 teams;Energy, Transportation & Logistics; Real Estate, Infra & Construction; Commodities, Food and Agri; TMT & Healthcare, Acquisition Finance, Asset Securitization, CSL, Corporate Investments, BMG and Working Capital Solutions; Environmental & Social ResponsibilityThe roleWe are looking for a dynamic and eager banker to work in the team responsible for TMT & Healthcare, Acquisition Finance, Asec, CI, CSL, BMG and WCS. The role of the (experienced) Credit Officer is to support the sector Senior Credit Officers (SCO) in executing client transactions from originating to closing and helping to manage the credit risk of the respective portfolios. It is a wide-ranging role that provides an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of credit risk management, different sectors and managing asset portfolios.In addition, the TA&A teams are engaged in many strategic projects covering sector analysis, RAS limit setting, LT, reporting, climate change and many other related initiatives covering the wider credit strategy of ING.We are a dynamic team, closely working with Front Office, focussed on taking responsible credit risks and managing the various portfolios. The timelines of requests are usually (very) demanding in our team hence flexibility and a ‘can do ‘mentality is important. If suitable, increasing responsibilities will be granted to make sure the personal learning curve is sufficiently steep.The TMT & Healthcare, AF, BMG, Asec, CI, CSL & WCS team consists of 15 FTE. Your position will be based in the Amsterdam and you will report to the team lead. You will be working closely with and under responsibility of the respective SCOs for these Sectors and Products (with specific areas of focus).Job description:Supporting the SCOs on new transactions, credit modifications and annual reviews in order to form an opinion on the credit risk by virtue of business model analysis, sector trends, credit structure risks, Climate/ESG risks and other aspects of credit risk.Providing assistance to SCOs with Risk Ratings, admin and system tasks in for example Vortex and Approval Package;Act as a joint of contact with the SCO for the respective portfolios assigned and act as replacement if the SCO is not available;Ensuring quality and consistency of credit applications and that transactions meet the conditions of approval as set out in the credit process;Closely monitoring the portfolios and helping to develop data led reporting and portfolio management;Actively providing input and performing analysis for various internal/external reports;Developing and maintaining relationships with front office peers and stakeholders;Participating in projects and actively providing input for/developing relevant risk policies and reports.An experienced Credit Officer (fs11/12) should have the capabilities & skills to act or grow into the role of a junior SCO and, ideally, should have the potential to grow into a SCO role.Who we are looking for?The candidate should have meaningful experience in Wholesale banking or risk management with sufficient responsibility in their previous roles. She/he must have an enquiring mind, a good commercial / risk balance and eagerness to analyze and dig in. The candidate has strong social skills, an understanding of internal governance and excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
