This role as a VP sits within Corporate Research & Deal Support, primarily focusing on the real estate sector with a strong emphasis on financial credit analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role supporting the implementation of strategic decisions.
- The team are responsible for providing strategic guidance to the bank, making it essential for candidates to not only have sector knowledge but also the ability to apply macroeconomic trends and financial insights to property markets. The role involves working with internal and external stakeholders, preparing reports, and presenting findings.
- Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities
- Complete industry outlooks and provide a good view of how macro economic impacts Real Estate industry and sub sectors
- Providing a view on various aspects of property industry and sub sectors of property in EMEA regions, eg trends in valuations, so looking at corporates and analysing them
- Must be able to present findings internally (to marketing departments, senior management) and externally (to clients and senior stakeholders).
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes in the financial industry.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent service to clients.
- Contribute to the team’s continuous improvement efforts by sharing insights and best practices.

- Sector Knowledge: Experience in property, specifically commercial real estate (including social housing, student housing, modular buildings, logistics, retail, and offices) within the EMEA region.
- Financial & Credit Insights: The ability to analyse corporates, project finance, and asset financing metrics, and produce insights on loan-to-value (LTV) ratios and valuations.
- Credit Exposure: Provide transaction analysis input which involves credit and financial analysis, internal credit monitoring and reporting, bi-annual Industry Credit Review as well as dealing with credit issues
- Analytical & Report Writing: Ability to summarise data clearly and logically, particularly in reports and presentations – a high level attention to detail is required.
- Strategic Insight: The department provides strategic direction, so candidates must be proactive, able to take initiative, and contribute to the bank’s broader strategic agenda. eg to protect the bank’s asset portfolio by identifying adverse corporate/industrial trends
- Sector Experience: Knowledge of broader financial sectors (e.g., how macroeconomic factors impact property markets), and experience in conducting industry outlooks is important.
In addition:
- A strong academic background in Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Good understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting/reporting standards, financial modelling.
- Must have strong reporting writing experience eg being able to summarise things logically with a high level attention to detail; this will involve presenting to external clients and senior stakeholders
- Work is varied, covering strategic reports, credit reporting, and credit monitoring, so the ability to manage multiple outputs and adapt to different themes is important.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team.
