Job summaryWe are currently recruiting for a Course Tutor (Research Quality enhancement and research CPD lead) /Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join our established Psychology Training Team.Please see more about the Oxford DClinPsych and the team at https://oxicptr.web.ox.ac.uk/The role will lead the strategic planning and delivery of the Research Quality enhancement and research CPD (RQE) aspects of the Programme. The RQE Lead Tutor is responsible for developing and managing a coherent and integrated research supervision component within the programme.You’ll also oversee and manage the RQE components for the DClinPsych and other programmes as required by the DClinPsy Senior Management Team (SMT).We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is able to support the team and thrives in a highly demanding training environment.Main duties of the jobThis varied and interesting opportunity includes involvement and responsibility in a number of areas to include:

  • First degree in psychology, or an equivalent qualification, which confers eligibility for Graduate Membership for Registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society.
  • Post Graduate Doctorate (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council.
  • BABCP accreditation as a supervisor and/or trainer, or easily achievable

Desirable

  • Research Degree (PhD, DPhil or similar)
  • Post-doctoral training in CBT and any other relevant specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Accredited with the BABCP at least at practitioner level
  • Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
  • Qualified as a Systemic Psychotherapist registered with UKCP.

ExperienceEssential

  • Significant clinical experience working as consultant clinical psychologist in an NHS setting; at least six years post qualification
  • Extensive postgraduate training/supervision in one or more specialised areas of clinical practice, training or research.
  • Extensive Experience of Personal and Professional Development
  • Experience of Conducting Research including publications
  • Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.

Desirable

  • Experience and involvement in doctoral level clinical research.
  • Experience of national and regional committees related to Clinical Psychology, especially clinical training.
  • Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.

KnowledgeEssential

  • Highly developed knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology, models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology
  • Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology relevant to the field of clinical psychology.
  • An understanding of Equality, Inclusion and Diversity issues as applied to Clinical Psychology admissions, as well as other trainings within the Centre for Psychological Health
  • An excellent understanding of the principles of University and Trust admissions and Employment requirements in the context of trainee recruitment and admission

Desirable

  • High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies
  • Knowledge and understanding of the wider legal, service and professional context.
  • Knowledge of systemic approaches, methods and techniques of working with families and other systems
