Country HR Manager Belgium(Fulltime, 35hrs per week)Are you ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and growing international retail environment? Action is looking for an experienced and strategic HR Manager to lead our HR team in Belgium. In this role, you will be pivotal in translating and executing the Group HR strategy within Belgium, ensuring that our HR policies and practices support our business objectives and foster a positive work culture. Responsible for a good, effective, and efficient execution of all HR related matters within the country. Translating group HR policies and instruments into local execution in close cooperation with local management. The HR Manager leads the HR team of 10 consisting of Social Relations Manager, Prevention Advisors and HR Advisors.Policy/Strategy

  • Develops and implement the HR strategy. Anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensures integration with wider group HR strategy.
  • Develop a policy framework for the country and oversee its implementation.
  • Supports the development and growth of the business and make sure it is ready for an increase in number of employees.
  • Translates the Group HR strategy into local HR policies and instruments and realizes highly effective execution of these policies within the country.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the Group’s HR strategy, policies and instruments.

Human Resources

  • Leads the development of Human Resources frameworks and tools for the country HR: o Social legal relations: responsible for developing the long-term approach and the way to manage those.
  • Talent pipeline management/ succession planning/career paths and most optimal execution of training & learning in the country
  • Recruitment and employer branding: overall responsible for the recruitment (stores and CO) and developing new paths (apprenticeships, students…)
  • Health & safety, social responsibility
  • Dotted line to the group payroll services.
  • Management of HR KPI’s

Operational Management

  • Initiates, plans, implements and coordinates HR related activities and projects for the country and ensures proper introduction and implementation of changes in the organization.
  • Ensures that the HR department supports the business with all HR related queries, and acts as a first point of contact for senior management on HR policy issues and strategic and tactical questions, informs them on new developments and identifies trends.
  • Coordinates and executes recruitment activities to fulfil current and future vacancies.
  • Develops, implements, and executes local policies on absence to realize a low sickness leave percentage.
  • Is responsible for the effective execution of local personnel administration.

You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have a proven track record of successfully managing HR teams and projects. Your ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders is key to your success. You are proactive, organized, and results-driven, with a passion for developing people and creating a positive work environment.You also have:

  • A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role
  • Experience in an international matrix structure
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Extensive knowledge of HR instruments and current trends and practices within HR, both locally and internationally
  • Excellent English and Dutch/French language skills (verbal and written)
  • Significant experience in labor relations, including union negotiations, compliance management, and employer engagement strategies
