Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop solutions for legal issues and prepares legal opinions and adviceAssist the Chief Counsel in examining the law and facts pertinent to legal problemsCommunicate with SAO organizations and internal AOC customersProvide legal support to AOC, AOC foreign offices, and affiliated companiesReview and advise AOC Chief Counsel and AOC operating organizations of legal documents, opinions, corporate policies and procedures, corporate rights and obligations, claims and litigation, contracts and agreements, and statutory or similar requirementMaintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgmentCollect relevant evidence and information, recommend solutions and coordinate communication with all parties involvedWith the knowledge of Chief Counsel can be first line of contact for enquiries and matters brought to the Chief CounselCover for the Chief Counsel in his/her absence and manage the affairs of the DepartmentPerform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Chief CounselFunctional Specific ResponsibilitiesContactsExt ernal

  • Occasionally with SAO Law Department
  • Occasionally with SAO Repre sentatives from non-law Department Areas
  • Occasionally with external law firms and other outside advisors

Internal

  • Regularly with AOC Chief Counsel
  • Occasion ally with AOC Management

RequirementsLaw degree from a recognized accredited institution and qualified to practice law in a recognized acceptable jurisdictionExcellent English skills, both written and verbally. Proficiency Language in other areas in which AOC conducts significant operations is a plus12 years of professional experience in an in-house legal department or within a law firm.
