As the Corporate Secuity Manager EMEA, your tasks will include supporting the Regional Head of Corporate Security, the EMEA security program and contributing to the security or intelligence related initiatives across the region or globally. What’s more, you’ll be working in a hybrid setup, able to balance working from home as well as from our office premises.About the teamThe Chief Security Office (CSO) is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. It is responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance, operational resilience, corporate security and crisis management as well as defining and advancing the company’s security strategy. As a part of CSO, Corporate Security focuses on a proactive and real-time management of security risks in the physical world. We’re looking for an experienced professional who’ll foster, maintain, and bolster Swiss Re’s security presence across Europe, the Middle East and Africa region and also to be able to support our Asia Pacific and Americas regions, where necessary.In your role, you will…

  • Report to the Regional Head of Corporate Security
  • Support the day-to-day management of security operations, events, or special activities across the EMEA region.
  • Help in the implementation, coordination, and oversight of the Corporate Security program, including its projects, standards, procedures and controls.
  • Assist the region’s Incident Management Teams (IMTs) during localised events that affects Swiss Re employees, operations or assets. Directly support Corporate Security in its role in managing the firm’s response to any pan regional crisis.
  • Support the response to operational incidents across the region and beyond.
  • Help deliver and where necessary run company-wide security initiatives and confidential projects.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Intelligence: Working with Corporate Security’s Protective Intelligence team as part of Swiss Re’s threat-based approach to security, to identify and anticipate threats/risks and mitigate or reduce them towards Swiss Re travellers, employees, physical assets, reputation, or overall operations across the region.
  • Travel Security: Supporting the regional travel security program by risk-assessing travel itineraries, delivering pre-deployment briefings, monitoring travellers and providing on-call assistance as required.
  • Executive Protection: Design and deliver risk-based protection assessments and implementing measures to support major events and the movement of senior leadership within the region.
  • Crisis Management: Within the Swiss Re Crisis Management framework and working alongside the Operational Resilience Team, you will help deliver regional resilience and actively respond both in and out of hours to regional or global incidents or crises. You support the Regional Head of Corporate Security in delivering the regional Incident Management programme including reviewing local plans, assisting in training & exercises and implementing controls.
  • Performance: Working with the Regional Head of security in comprehending the regional security situation/landscape and establishing appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) in support of the operational threat dashboard. Help deliver the regional security programme by reviewing Swiss Re offices & vendors and train local incident management teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Controls: Continuously assessing control performance and proposing optimisation based on threat and risk assessment
  • Education & Training: Fostering a security culture by educating employees and raising awareness across the region. You will use all opportunities to promote the function and share information across the region through collaborating with other functions within & outside of Chief Security Operations (CSO).
  • Cooperation & Collaboration: Establishing cross-functional collaboration with local, regional, headquarter-based teams and functions as liaison for regional business leaders – including Corporate Real Estate Services, Legal, Compliance and Communications to execute globally focused projects.
  • Networking: Developing and maintaining security-relevant networks including in-country law enforcement agencies, government intelligence services, private security companies, relevant regional security organisations including OSAC Country Councils, ASIS, the Regional Security Officers, etc.

Personal skillsWhat we need from you:

  • 3-7 years of experience working in an international security, corporate security, or intelligence environment – ideally within a multinational financial services organisation, regulated industry or government ministry/department.
  • Passion for security – together with excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence to brief leadership at the highest levels.
  • Able to build consensus across external parties and open minded to understand and accept alternative views.
  • Willingness to operate in and out of routine working hours, where necessary independently to monitor and respond to regional incidents.
  • Effective in prioritise tasks and activities and meeting targets on time and to a high standard.
  • Team player with an agile mindset and an ability to think outside of routine boundaries.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity and experience working in and beyond the geographical area of assignment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and an aptitude in employing security technologies including emergency communications, business continuity software and travel tracking solutions.
  • Higher education in a related field of study.
  • A sense of humour.

Desirable Qualifications/skills:

  • One local regional language is preferable – e.g. Spanish, German.
  • Professional certification such as CPP, CBCI, AMBCI.
