Role Summary

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to begin their in-house legal career as part of a dynamic and growing organisation. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Corporate Legal and wider Legal team on a range of practice areas including corporate, regulatory, banking and transactional legal work.

Responsibilities

The role’s duties will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Support the Head of Corporate Legal on strategic corporate projects;

  • Draft, negotiate and advise on third-party agreements and communications across the Marex group;

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a variety of topics including negotiations and business updates;

  • Assist the Head of Corporate Legal with the review of corporate and regulatory developments affecting the Marex group and collaborate with internal teams as needed with regard to their implementation; and

  • Assist the wider Legal department with other ad-hoc or urgent matters from time to time.

Skills and Experience

This is a junior-level position; prior relevant experience in private practice or in-house roles may not be considered essential where there is a genuine enthusiasm for and desire to learn about financial markets and corporate law.

The candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong academics (including a 2:1 or above at degree level); and

  • Good communication and organisational skills.

  • Legal Practice Course or Solicitors Qualifying Examination preparedness preferable, but not mandatory
