We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications professional with experience in the areas of EU and UK energy sector-related, advocacy, sustainability and stakeholder engagement.Within Aramco Europe Public Affairs, Strategic Communications team provides information, analysis of and advice on all European policy developments relevant to the energy sector and business, including the European Green Deal and Fit for 55. These activities are undertaken in support of Aramco’s operations in Europe and internationally and help shape messaging and stakeholder engagement program in line with the strategic direction for European markets, including the UK, Netherlands, Poland, France, Spain and Italy.The job holder will support Strategic Communications Supervisor in implementing existing activities under the European political intelligence and policy analysis workstream and further developing the function, working in close alignment with the Operational Communications team responsible for internal and external communications, events and brand positioning and other relevant internal stakeholders and Corporate Citizenship team responsible for implementing dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility program in Europe.Key duties and responsibilities
- EU and UK policy monitoring and analysis
- Production and distribution of key deliverables (weekly note and monthly report)
- Relationships with agencies supporting the workstream
- Maintenance of relevant stakeholder and policy databases and distribution lists
- Preparation of internal briefings and presentations
- Review of planned external communications and any relevant internal documentation
The successful candidate will serve as a senior advisor and deputize for Strategic Communications Supervisor when required. He/she will be responsible for providing advice on public and policy makers perception of Aramco, its operations and strategy in our European markets and identifying ways of raising awareness of the brand and Aramo’s products and services, maintaining a positive image of the company and building valuable ties with key stakeholders and members of the local community.The successful candidate will provide input to planned internal and external communications activities, ensuring that all partnerships, citizenship programs, sponsorships and other brand-related activities and engagement campaigns across European markets are aligned with the relevant policies in the EU and UK. Specifically, the job holder will be responsible for identifying and analyzing potential risks and opportunities in the area of stakeholder engagement and management.Minimum requirements
- The successful candidates will have at least 7 years of proven experience and domain expertise in corporate communications and European policy analysis, either in-house or at a strategic communications consultancy. Proven experience in an Oil & Gas, Energy, Fuels is preferred. Experience in the areas of energy transition, sustainability (ESG) and European advertising standards will be particularly valuable.
- Candidates will have strong academic credentials, holding a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, potentially with advanced or professional qualifications or in-depth practical experience in Public Affairs, Communications, Public Policy, Government Affairs, Sustainability, or related disciplines.
- Excellent communications skills, fluency in English and good command of an additional European language are mandatory requirements.
