Position Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious contracts’ negotiator or aspiring lawyer with commercial and IT services experience to join a truly transformative business!

Cohesive, a business unit of Bentley Systems, is seeking a Contracts Negotiator to join its legal department, reporting directly to Cohesive’s Chief Counsel. Cohesive is a full lifecycle digital integrator delivering transformational outcomes through the built and natural environment.

The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of legal matters across our Cohesive business and work closely with both Cohesive leaders and colleagues and Bentley’s Legal and Compliance team of more than 30 lawyers and support staff at nine global locations. Your primary responsibilities will include commercial negotiations (with a primary focus on EMEA) and other general legal work. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials and relevant in-house, law firm or industry experience.

Your Day-to-Day:

-Manage contract negotiations on commercial transactions and related matters
with a primary focus in the EMEA region.
-Act as primary negotiator to review, draft and negotiate IT consulting, services and subcontracting agreements, advising and responding to RFPs,
purchase order/sales document review, vendor qualification review, service proposals, contract review, contract drafting (such as NDAs, services agreements, etc.) and ensuring that terms conform to legal and business requirements and company policies
within set deadlines.
-Balance legal and commercial risk against commercial priorities of the company.
-Act as trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders with respect to commercial transactions.
-Organizing and ensuring compliance with local rules and regulations in respect of tender documentation (review and production of public tender documentation)
-Drafting of correspondence and other legal documents
-Providing general administrative support for department lawyers and Contract Negotiators. 
-Assisting in additional substantive legal issues, as required. 
 

What You Bring to The Team:

-Law Degree is required
-Full Professional proficiency in (speak, read and write) in both English and Spanish is required. A working knowledge of other languages is a plus.
-5-8 years relevant contract negotiation experience in-house and/or in private practice required however candidates may be considered that have more/less experience.
-You will be a well-organised and detail-orientated professional who is a self-starter and able to exercise sound judgment within defined practices and policies.
-Prior in-house experience ideally with an IT services or software organisation is preferred.
-Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate legal and commercial risks clearly and succinctly to senior management and stakeholders.
-Ability to make independent decisions and negotiate to closure, with escalation as needed.
-Prior experience with government procurement, infrastructure, utilities and other construction projects would be a plus.
-Experience and enthusiasm for learning and development; including training other colleagues on legal topics as and when required.
